In the fall of 2021, I got invited to go on a trip with industry friends to explore some of the places in Italy! I had been to Venice before, but other than that, no other place - so I was BEYOND excited. Besides going to Thailand, this was hands down one of the best trips ever. We covered A LOT in a week!

I flew into Rome and spent the night there, exploring as much of the city as I could in 24 hours. We did a pretty good job! We then got into a van and traveled to Tuscany, stopping at a winery on the way and then continuing on to the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco for a few days. We then traveled to Florence, staying at the Four Seasons, where we spent 24 hours exploring all that we could before ending the trip in Lake Como! I have (will) make a post of about the locations in detail because there was so much we experienced in those few days but if you want our itinerary to experience a few Italian cities in less than week - See below!
Our Itinerary:
Tuesday : Flight from the U.S. to Rome
Wednesday: Early morning arrived in Rome, spent 24 hours exploring.
Thursday - Saturday: Explored Tuscany
Sunday: Early morning arrived in Florence, spent 24 hours exploring.
Monday - Thursday: Conference in Lake Como
Thursday: Flight from Milan to the U.S.

SECRET to PLUGS in Italy:
Every place I stayed had different plugs. Some hotels had U.S. compatible and others were C,F,L. The voltage / plugs in different countries, I still haven't completely figured out. Here is an article that explains it a bit. However, every time I go abroad, something doesn't work. I would skip bringing a hair dryer, the hotels will have one. I use the Dyson Airwrap at home, that DOES NOT work over there, you have to buy a European Dyson Airwrap, FYI. For curling iron or flat iron, I buy a dual-voltage one for travel only and use the converter and pray, which you can read the label if it is dual-voltage. Once I find a good one, I'll let y'all know! If you HAVE to have one, buy one while there to be safe. Also, some hotels have adapters and converters that you can ask for, so if you brought the wrong one, ask the front desk before buying one! Sometimes they are already in the room with the amenities (like in the closet with the slippers!)
Secrets to Attire & Weather in Italy:
I am always hot. I was in Italy at the beginning of October, and I was toasty during the day. I wore shorts and a tank most days with a light weight shirt over that I could take off. I could get away with jeans but again I am always hot! At night it was better, I could wear a pant suit and be fine. They don't use AC like we do in the U.S. so inside was always hot (to me...), I wanted to be outside with the breeze at night :) When it comes to shoes, go comfortable, we did a lot of walking and it can be rough terrain and cobblestone.
Hope this helps!
Stay tuned for more about Italy!
